Story behind the song
I spend summers at a children's camp and our them for the year was about following God. At a quiet time during the week, I sat down at a picnic table and God gave me most of this song. It has been in my notebook for a couple of years, and recently I brought it out and finished it.

I was on the highway of my day to day life,
I saw a man pulled off to one side,
I stopped my car and said to him,
Do you want a ride, do you want to hop in,
I'm kind of in a hurry.
and he said,
Which way are you travelin son
are you going somewhere or just havin fun
do you know your final destination
does the road you're on lead to a place
of life and love, peace and grace,
or do you see a "dead end" sign and the darkness beyond

I thought about his question and I looked on down the road
watching all the drivers pass me by
As they went along their way
I wondered where they'd end the day
and is that where I wanted to be
and I said....
