My "band" is a Macintosh Computer with a sequencer and instrument module (software) and a recording simulator called deck. But it is amazing what can be done with these things!

Story behind the song
A tribute to the love of Christ. Based on a story from Mark Twain's Life on the Mississippi. The story is about a riverboat pilot who's heroicly stays at the wheel of a steamboat that is on fire, so he can cross the river to a placed where it is safe for the passangers to get off. In doing so, he is the only one who dies. In the same way, Christ dies in our place.
Lyrics
IfM GONNA STAY Based on a story from Mark Twainfs gLife on the Mississippi.h Verse 1 Way down in Memphis Tennessee, beneath a gravestone peacefully There lies a steamboat pilot, brave and strong, Who gave his life to save his crew and the passengers, he saved them too. His story is the reason for this song. It was a day like most, we know, when suddenly, way down below A fire broke out and then began to spread. So quickly did it rend and rip! That a cry went out, "Abandon ship!" But the pilot hollered, Stop!h and then he said, gThe water here is mighty deep, The currentfs strong, the bank is steep, If folks jump now a lot of them will die! But though the river here is wide, itfs safer on the other side. Ifm gonna cross, at least Ifm gonna try! Chorus: gI will not go!h That is what they heard him say, gfcause if I go no one else will see another day, but if I stay anyone can plainly see Therefs a chance nobody will be lost but me! Therefs no other way! Ifm gonna stay!h Verse 2 And saying this he took the wheel. He pulled down with a grip of steel And hauled her eround to face the other shore. Across they pounded, inch by inch. The Pilot stood, he didnft flinch As at his back the flames began to roar. The captain hollered, gGet out son! The firefs here ya gotta run Or pretty soon there wonft be no retreat!h But he replied, gWefre almost there! Just on more minute wefll be where The waterfs calm and just a couple a feet! He aimed her for the shallows and he plowed her up into the sand Where all two hundred people safely fled. But to the one who wouldnft go the fire dealt a mortal blow. These words are chiseled now above his head. (Chorus) Verse 3 Down in a place called Calvary a man is dyinf on a tree Who like the pilot, too, was brave and strong, Who gave his life for me and you and for the world, to save them too. He also is the reason for this song. For on that Friday this we know. He hung there sufffring even though It should a been us hangingf there instead. Though he was never in their grip he took the thorn and nail an whip As deep inside his heart these words he said, gThe debt they owe is much too deep! The way of God they cannot keep! I leave the cross and all of them will die! But here and now I do decide I stay here etil theyfre justified,h So listen to his silent vicftry cry! Alternate Chorus: gI will not go!h That is what I hear him say, gcause if I go no one will survive the judgment day, but if I stay anyone can plainly see Though I die nobody need be lost but me! Therefs no other way! Ifm gonna stay!h (repeat) (C)2002 JJANA
