Story behind the song
This was inspired from an incident that happened during recording with a friend of mine sometime this week. She had recently found out that the guy she was dating was dating someone else...and it pretty much "killed" her...(the song she was recording was about infidelity/two-timing)...when she was recording the first take of the day. She broke down crying...it touched me because when I tried to comfort her, I saw myself in her, saying the same things a few months ago...and this song is dedicated to her. :-)
Lyrics
CRY I see your broken spirit behind your swollen eyes The signs of bitter trust are burned beneath your disguise Your voice is wearing thin, your heart is in your hands The sound of anger pleads with me to understand You gave your heart in everything, he tore it in two You want your mind to take away the pain he’s given you I recognize the pain of love, the price you had to pay I’ve seen the steps of hell and heaven falling in a day I’m too familiar with the edge of madness in your mind I see my own reflection, and my tears are in your eyes Let’s heal the weight of anguish and the aching in your soul And bring a flood of tears to wash your body whole So, cry…just cry So, cry…just cry Let your mind escape and rest your head in my arms I’ll try to ease the pain where memories left you scarred So put away the questions and toss away the fears No man deserves the love you’ve painted with your tears Let’s heal the weight of anguish and the aching in your soul And bring a flood of tears to wash your body whole So, cry…just cry So, cry…just cry No more mask of darkness, come out into the light No more time for sadness, it’s time for grief to fly It’s time for resolution, the days are passing by It’s time for us to try to cry So, cry…just cry So, cry…just cry
