A rock tune written from the perspective of a person having problems but fighting to do better.
Melodic power rock with a slight alt flavor
Story behind the song
A friend was having some personal issues and battling some demons. I started writting this from his point of view as he wasn't very vocal about it.
I became one of the demons he battled and I dropped the tune. Giving up on someone isn't cool so I've resurected the song and here it is.
I still can't sing so don't get your ears TOO close to the speakers :-)
Lyrics
Fade Away
I’ve been walking a straight line
Just trying to put your mind at ease
Cause I know that I can only hurt you for so long
I must have told you a hundred lies
And I really thought you were believing them
How the hell could I have been so damn naïve?
Bridge
I’ve lived a life based on second chances until now
I know I’ve got to stop burning my bridges somehow
Chorus
I’ll come around
So don’t walk away
I just need some time to get my head on straight
We’ve been thru worse and we beat that too
I promise not to fade away from you
Solo
Give me a chance give me a break
I’ve got more than my fair share
Of demons to shake
I think I’ve really crossed the line this time
I won’t pretend that I’m not afraid
Wanna close my eyes but I can’t look away
You know I’ll watch your back if you’ll watch mine
Breakdown
Solo
Bridge
I’ve lived a life based on second chances until now
But I’ve got to stop burning my bridges somehow
