Paper Cats is a lover's duo. We range through folk and anti-folk to rougher electrified rock and blues; Chris plays guitars--six string, twelve string, classical acoustic, electric, you name it--and Lauren mostly sings. Some of our work is Chris's solo guitar composition, some Lauren's solo ballads, but increasingly our work is collaborative, usually with Chris writing guitar parts and Lauren writing vocal parts. We are enjoying ourselves immensely.

Story behind the song
This is a song written to express our sense of our cat's sense of our relationship to him, as though he were writing it. Since Lancelot's vocabulary, like his conceptual life, is rather limited, Lauren tried to write Lance's lyric as simply as we construe his conscious experience to be. (Lancelot doesn't care much one way or another about Chris playing guitar, and tends to meow loudly at Lauren when she sings.)
Lyrics
Watch them, see them, hear them Strange and loud and fuss and laugh and Running fast Very fast! Sleeping all day in the sunshine Tearing around in the dark Singing out loud in the sunshine! Running to and fro and fro and to and to and fro and-- Jumping high Very high! They singing out loud in the sunshine They sleeping too long in the dark They tearing around in the Sunshine! (Instr.) They tearing around in the sunshine they Singing out loud in the dark they Sleeping too long in the sunshine And they call and grab and clutch and hold and love and cry out-- all my names Many names! They soaking all day in the sunshine They tearing around in the dark They singing out loud in the sunshine!
