I like the 80's and majestic music take a listen.
Story behind the song
I wrote this song about being on the skytrain in Vancouver and wishing someone would talk to me and yet I was not willing to talk to anyone. And I realized that if people would talk perhaps their commuting would not be such a dreary activity.
Lyrics
we're always waiting for someone to reach out a hand,
we're always hoping that someone else will understand,
what we're feeling, that we want to touch somebody's heart,
and not be afraid of the lies we've been learning from the start,
to not say a word,
to hide everything inside,
to worry what the'll think,
though they're looking through similiar eyes,
speeding round to another part of town,
we're in close proximity,
yet silence reigns till we reach the end,
another trip, time wasted again,
silent people on your own,
why don't you speak and let yourself be known,
and silent people sit and stare,
why are they so aware? why do they have to care?
we always want to know when love will show up at our door,
we have got to learn that we need to put in effort and explore,
cause the world, the world holds all we want and all we need,
we've just got to go and get it, and thats how people succeed,
don't get locked away,
don't get locked inside your mind,
don't get locked away,
don't hold on to yourself so tight,
speeding round to another part of town,
we're in close proximity,
yet silence reigns till we reach the end,
another trip, time wasted again,
silent people on your own,
why don't you speak and let yourself be known,
and silent people sit and stare,
why are they so aware? why do they have to care?
silent people on your own,
silent people on your own,
silent people on your own,
silent people on your own,
don't get locked away,
don't get locked inside your mind,
don't get locked away,
don't hold on to yourself so tight,
I've had enough of this
