Outlaw Country with a touch of Bluegrass and Southern Rock. Americana. Biker Music. It's a fresh, unique sound that is hard to fit into a catagory.
Patti Stevens' first CD, produced by legendary outlaw singer/songwriter Billy Don Burns, was released in the spring of 2006. The project is full of heartfelt honesty and emotion. Her style has strong undertones of the rebellious outlaws of the past and present. It is hard to tell fact from fiction as she weaves a vivid tale in every song, each one thought provoking, and bravely exposing a part of herself. Her stories of love and life and the journey in between will bring you to tears and laughter almost simutaniously. One of Patti's songs from the CD, a fun gospel tune with a twist titled Just In Case, recently won first place in the Indianapolis Songwriters Association contest and the song She Rides has been picked up by independent artist band Cabin Row. Her tribute to the Confederate flag, The X They Stole From Dixie has been very popular with-in the biker crowd and also Civil War buffs. "I'm a Civil War buff myself and I ride a Harley, " she says, "so most of my songs are a reflection of that." She came to Nashville to create a niche for herself and she has accomplished this. Many legendary songwriters in Nashville recognized her talent and offered guidance and support...all for the love of a song. Click on Nashville Knows, a song about her first experiences in Nashville and you will hear Billy Don Burns stepping in for the last chorus...(thanks, Billy!). If you are looking for a totally different, yet pure sound, check out her songs and watch for the CD release in january. And if you are and artist interested in performing any of her songs she would love to hear from you! (bio by Paulette LaFay...Music Row, Nashville, TN)

Story behind the song
Sometimes it's hard to have faith in something you can't see. But then again....
Lyrics
Just In Case (c) 2005 Patti Stevens/BMI Mama took me to the baptist church ‘Cause a little religion wouldn't hurt She tucked three shiney quarters in the pocket of my shirt Said the Lord needed the money for his work v2. The sermons had beginnings but no ends And I wouldn’t sing the words to dumb old hymns I just moved my lips like I knew how they went And held onto the quarters when the preacher said repent chorus 1: ‘Cause there ain’t no heaven there ain’t no hell and there ain’t no judgement day Jesus never walked on water and angels only live in LA But the thought of burning up in flames was more then I could take So I tossed one of the quarters in the plate...just in case V3. Grandpa passed away later that fall Overdosed on beer and Demoral I was hiding all my quarters in the bathroom down the hall The afternoon that mama got the call v4. We got there bout the same time that he died I hardly even knew him but I cried Someone said his angels came but I was sure they lied Til he said my name and opened up his eyes chorus 2: He said: There is a heaven and there is a hell and I'm at judgement day Jesus really walks on water and angels live all over the place You can’t buy your way inside when you reach the pearly gates But bring along those quarters, child, and pray ...just in case bridge: I went home and knelt down by my bed Took the money to the preacher and told him what I did chorus 3: he said: There is a heaven and there is a hell and you'll get to judgement day Jesus really walks on water and angels live all over the place You can't buy your way inside but there's another way Take Jesus for your savior, child and pray... just have faith...just have faith
