Story behind the song
This song came about after I wrote a song from Isaiah 55 that used the scriputre verses as lyrics. I submitted it for critique and discovered the song was a bit dull and needed work. when I sat down to try to improve it, I found myself writing a whole new song, that is upbeat and hopeful. The speaker in the song is the Lord: He wants us to lsiten to Him and receive a free gift of life and hope. Here is the scripture the song is based on: "Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters, and he who has no money; come, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which doesn't satisfy? listen diligently to me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Turn your ear, and come to me; hear, and your soul shall live: ..." (Isaiah 55:1-3 WEB)
