Craig O'Manion is an unwilling poet who happened to come along in an age of electric guitars and his introverted career and deep lyrics that often weave themselves around in circles have always kept him at odds with popular notions about how a rock musician should sound, act and live. His 400+ songs have spanned several years playing as a solo artist and in The Beavers and before that Frictional Mission. Craig O'Manion sang lead, played guitar and wrote for Georgia bands The Beavers and Frictional Mission. This site is an overview of both The Beavers, Frictional Mission and some of his solo recordings.

Lyrics
I built my fences 500 miles wide and now all my ponies think they're running wild but they're still safe within my range when you think for yourself ain't life strange I build my bridges 500 miles straight so the other rivers wouldn't get in my way and now they flow beneath my dry and dusty trail when you think for yourself ain't life frail when you think for yourself, sometimes you fail every step you take could mean a fall every move, could break you after all you may be afraid don't keep it to yourself then you'll be amazed along with everyone else Go build a mountain 500 miles high seeded with timber, clean to the sky climb to the top, and slowly turn around when you think for yourself you won't come down when you think for yourself it doesn't make a sound every step you take could mean a fall every move, could break you after all you will be afraid don't keep it to yourself then you'll be amazed along with everyone else
