Story behind the song
I hesitate to share too much about the songs I write, as I want every listener to identify with it on a unique level; to have a chance to personalize it and make it meaningful to them. Hopefully this song could be several different things to different people; so I will tell you how I alone identify with it. For me, this song is a statement to my daughter. Well, technically she is my step daughter, but when I look into her sweet little eyes, it’s hard to imagine she isn’t mine by blood. She has to go out of state every couple of weeks to visit family, and she used to act very strange before she would leave. I used this song as my way of telling her: I’m not going anywhere, I’ll be here when you get back, and I ALWAYS will be. I love that little cute Emily.
