This song is probably the most technical recording we've done I (Brendan) used 3 guitars for the sound and Josh did some of the best mixing jobs I've heard from him. He also did the best vocal recording he's done yet.
Story behind the song
This song came from a little riff I wrote (the verse riff.) I was just sitting around with a friend of mine (Chris,) and he fell in love with the riff for some reason. He had been telling me a lot of crazy interesting stories that night, and I took those stories and turned them into a song. I wrote the rest of it that same night, but it was kind of a boring song. I showed it to Brendan and he wrote some leads and the bridge, and we sat down with it for a while and turned it into something that I'm now very proud of. It was kind of weird writing about a specific person in my life like that, especially with them knowing who the song was about, but I think the end product is something special. Once I was done, I got stumped on the name, so I just called it "Chris's Song."

Lyrics
Somethin' bout the air down here
Somethin' bout the way they stare
Makes me think, but I don't care
I don't care
It's not the lack of ocean air
It's not feel of my mother's hair
If I could I would I'd disappear
Just one thing that keeps me here
You and me came easily
but easy come, it comes and goes
but what will come of me?
It's not the lack of ocean air
It's not the way you ditched me here
It's not about my homesick bones
It's not about my problem zones
It's all about my own safe home
It's not your fault, he's sweet as salt
regrets and pleas, I'm done
I remember the way
you used to smile and say
don't be bothered by them
cause' when you're a man
you can come back for me
I will be in the sand
but for now, you see
it is out of your hands
