Story behind the song
This song was originally done in '94; written about the X-Men character, Nightcrawler, wondering if the film industry would make a movie of it. Oddly though, the film came out six years later, with a sequel featuring Nightcrawler in 2003. For those that don't know of the character or the X-Men comics, Nightcrawler is a mutant with the ability of line-of-sight teleportation.
Lyrics
NOW YOU SEE ME, NOW YOU DON’T (M. Spence) You better watch your step You better watch your back Because you never know When I come to attack When you least expect it I come and then I go Am I here or am I there You would never know BRIDGE In a cloud of smoke I stake my claim In a flash I’m gone You never know my name CHORUS Now you see me…Now you don’t You think you’ll catch me But then you won’t Get on the move Get on the groove Now you see me…Now you don’t You never know I’m there Or would you seem to care When you begin to trust What’s left is a trail of dust BRIDGE CHORUS REPEAT SOLO BRIDGE CHORUS Copyright © 1994 Stat Songs Publishing (ASCAP)
