Story behind the song
The twist to the story
Lyrics
CUSTOMER SERVICE
(By Bob Dixson) © JAN. 1st 2005
I was hauling down the “I” on my way to L.A.
When I thought I’d grab a bite at Reds road side café
It wasn’t very busy from the way that it looked
And for the last half mile I’d been smelling what they cooked
Walk in and took a seat
Checked the menu out for something to eat
The waitress came over said hello
My names flo I’ll be back before you know
Grabbed the ice water off the table to get cool
And decided on a bowl of Reds hot beef stew
Then I look around the place
I begin to contemplate then I wait Wait wait is she on break ( Clock ticking)
So I wait and I wait and I wait It’s getting late
Hey what’s going on
Have I done something wrong
Not trying to be pushy or rude
But I’m still waiting to order food
My patience has reached it’s limits
Been waiting on service for over 30 minutes
Hey Flo what did I do to deserve this
I just can’t get no customer service
I said the hell with it and I lit out of there
I must have peeled rubber felt my tires loose some air
The gravel was flying when I hit the road
Then I heard a strange noise wouldn’t you know
Saw a sign said Stu’s gas and mechanic shop
So I pulled in there and made a pit stop
This Bearded Toothless clown got out of his chair
Walked over to my truck as I’m sitting there
The crapper out of order so don’t ask me for the key
And Joe the mechanic won’t be back till three
Then I thought just my luck
I’ve gotta take guff off of Uncle Buck
How much gas do you need
Just some air in the tires please
He looked at me as if I’d slapped his face
Said man get the hell outta my place
I grabbed the beer he held in his hand
Slugged it down and I threw him the can
And even though he looked like my cousin Curtis
I just wasn’t getting no customer service
No matter where I go
No matter what I do
Has this ever happen to you
Waitin around for hours on end
Only to see you Flight cancelled again
Spend all day to buy tickets to go
Then you find out it’s a sold out show
Call up for some info on a product you bought
And get some broken English speaking Id de ought
Don’t Ignore or act like you haven’t heard us
All we want is some customer service
He eyed balled me as I sped away
I swore I’d go back and kick his butt someday
I was tearing down the “I” at a pretty good clip
With my radio blaring the Dixie chicks
I zoomed by Jerry’s bar
That’s when I spotted that State patrol car
I looked in my mirror what did I see
Johnny Law was chasing after me
So I pulled off to the side with some reservations
Now the man wants my license and registration
He said I got a call from Red’s and Stu
To be on the lookout for you
Do you know how fast I clocked you speeding
I’m sorry officer I had an emergency meeting
Is that beer I smell have you been drinking
Then I realized my breath was Reeking
As he slapped the cuff’s on me I got nervous
At least I know where I can get some customer service
As that cell door slammed I over heard this
Now he’s gonna get some customer service
Foot steps walking away ( Fade)
