Story behind the song
Written whilst watching a John Wayne film (the one where he's a cop in London - Brannigan!) as a Jewish polka song. It soon turned into a squelchy-bass, whiny-synth, spiky-guitar Bowie fest (Although the Jewish version still exists in demo form with full brass section, synth strings and tympanis!)
