Just the other night
A mother slays her children
She knows it isn’t right
There’s shootings in our schools
Wars all around the world
What happened to your children
Don’t they know that you’re coming soon
Lord I want to be a witness
I want to be a light in this dark world
If they can’t see you in my heart
How thankful I am for a brand new start
What am I doing this for?
In every city there’s adultery
Don’t they know that they’re doing wrong?
There’s children on the streets
Selling drugs just to buy some food
We’re filling up our jails
Instead of filling up our pews
In the end I’ll be in Heaven
But how many do we have to lose
I went to work the other day
Just like the many days before
I told a man about your love
He said he wasn’t sure.
My hope is that he makes his choice
And gives Christ his life
And when I go up to heaven
He’ll be another one by my side
