RAD THOUGHT RELEASES “BREAKFAST WITH CONDI”
NEW YORK, NY New York City based recording artist and songwriter RAD THOUGHT announced the release today of “Breakfast With Condi”, a new Pop/Rock song regarding National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, her critical role in the Bush Administration and the events of 9-11. The song will be available as a free download for the duration of the upcoming Democratic and Republican National Conventions.
“Breakfast with Condi” is a satirical song that not only examines Ms. Rice’s demeanor while testifying at the 9-11 Commission but also develops a romantic relationship between Ms. Rice, a staunch Neo-Conservative and a left leaning “dove.” Asked why he chose Condoleezza Rice as a subject for a Pop/Rock song Mr. Thought replied, “Because of her charm and elusive nature she doesn’t get enough “credit” for the mess we are in as a nation; plus, the song needed a love interest and she’s got a better set of legs than Dick Cheney.”
Mr. Thought chose to use lyrical humor and a Pop/Rock style as a vehicle for highlighting the serious content of the song. “It’s very easy, almost therapeutic for an artist, to play some aggressive music and rant about the indiscretions of the members of the Bush administration,” says Thought. “I thought it might be clever to package the same provocative lyrics in a non-threatening style of music so mainstream listeners could get the message.”
Rad Thought is a founding member of The Radical Thought Resistance, a NYC based Hard Rock band whose debut CD entitled “Empowered Species” was released to critical acclaim in 2002. He is currently producing NYC area artists and writing more “serious” material for The Radical Thought Resistance’s sophomore CD tentatively entitled “Notes from the Underground.”
