Story behind the song
ARTWORK: TERPSICHORE - THE GREEK GODDESS/MUSE OF DANCING AND SONG. THIS SONG WAS AN ORIGINAL IMPROV MODERN/FREE JAZZ TUNE CALLED "FOND ADIEU TO CAROL- On Retirement/Terpsichore Muse" IT WAS DEDICATED, ON DECEMBER 9, 2009, TO CAROL BLAZINA AS A DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR AND THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR COMMUNITY RELATIONS WITH THE SUNY (STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK) COLLEGE AT ONEONTA. THE SONG'S DEscriptION STATED: "A song for emeritus Carol Blazina, who served with excellence, over four decades, from graduate student to dance professor, vice president, and other achievements for the SUNY College at Oneonta - e.g., founding acclaimed Terpsichorean Dance Company!" CAROL WAS ESPECIALLY BELOVED BY JBBQ! SHE WAS THE ONE WHO FIRST SUGGESTED THAT DR. BOB SHOULD CREATE OUR MUSIC AND FORM THE JBBQ BAND. AND SHE REMAINED OUR #1 FAN AND INSPIRATIONAL MOTIVATOR UP TO THE TIME OF HER DEATH. CAROL WILL BE MISSED GREATLY BY HER MANY FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES...AND ALWAYS REMEMBERED IN SPIRIT AND SONG BY DR BOB'S JAZZ BOPPIN' BEBOP QUARTET - JBBQ...

Very very nice and perfect Jazzy tune! I´m sure Carol will hear this one, even if not more among us on earth, but there where the stars shine...... thoughtful tribute to such a significant person, well done Dr. Bob and JBBQ´s guys.

a very fitting tribute. this soft jazz piece would i'm sure be reminiscent, if she could hear it, of the very reason she encouraged you to get recording. i'm so glad she did since i have been enjoying your fine music for years. I'm sorry for your loss but it sounds as she had a full and productive life in spite of her misfortune. as for this piece, drifting, smooth, relaxing, and performed to perfection.
