Story behind the song
I wrote this for my wife Diane when she and I were dating. Needless to say “goodbyes never came.” When we married I used the theme of this for a fanfare at our wedding. The solo is a Steiner EVI. In this arrangement I put the “electronic back-ground vocals” in for my kids. They liked it when they heard it in ELO’s Mr. Blue Sky. The last line of v.3 is my attempt at humor. What else could be written without writing pages, . . . I love my wife.
Lyrics
No one can tell me I’m wrong, you make me feel like I could sing and dance the whole day long. You brighten up my day, that’s why I’d like to say I Will Remember You Always I like to see you smile, nobody else can help to make me feel it’s all worthwhile. The time I spend with you is all I need to get me through. I Will Remember You Always And when I think about you I hope that you’ll think of me, too, like I think of you. And what you say to me, I hope you’ll say you love me, too, ‘cause I still love you . . . And if goodbyes ever come (I hope goodbyes never come) I’ll be the lonely one to miss the laughter and the fun. I will remember you, (it’s) too much work to forget you. I Will Remember You Always I’ll be in love with you always
