Songwriters often draw on real life experiences as they create music, and ellee ven’s unique upbringing provides her with plenty of material for the songs she writes. Born in Los Angeles, ellee ven grew up during a time of musical experimentation when many artists began to blur the lines between various styles including rock and roll, folk, pop, R & B and Motown. ellee ven is Spanish, Greek, German, Russian and Italian. As a child and teenager, she frequently performed in musical theater and was sure about pursuing a career in music straight out of high school. Her parents, on the other hand, insisted that she attend college prior to jumping into the music scene. ellee ven earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts and a Master’s Degree in Education and Psychology. While pursuing her education, she launched Hot Sauce Records, an independent record label that promoted solo and group acts. After graduating, ellee ven began teaching elementary school. Though she loved being an educator, ellee ven began to notice the way musicians influenced her students’ lives through their work. Before long ellee ven decided it was time to commit herself to music. A self-proclaimed "Renaissance Girl," ellee ven composes songs that are a hybrid of pop and R & B with occasional Latin and Flamenco flairs.
