Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Hey Verne, I had to sign up on sound click just to post this. Is this your main site ? I kinda got lost in all of these different music webs. I've been back to work so I haven't been able to spend as much time on the web. Good to hear you. Still cranking out tunes I see. Is this where the term" bleeding like a stuck pig " was inspired? Glad to see your doing well. Never seen a pig slaughtered but as usual your song gave me a good visual.
"Another place in time" This song really gathered my attention. I was at the Cargill plant in Beardstown, IL. (not far from Lake Fork) two weeks ago for a delivery of cleaning solution I made. I got a good look at modern hog processing. The Semi trailers of doomed hogs never ended. In some cases the farming life requires versatility that most people don't require. Verne your memory and knowledge of farming lifestyle in the early years is priceless history to be told. Great song my friend and keep those hands working for all of us most appreciative listeners to enjoy. All the best! Jamey
