I recall watching a friend of many years cycle thru one tragic disaster after another. It was difficult to watch this friend disintegrate from the side lines of his life.

3 piece rock band based based out of San Luis Obispo, CA who happen to follow Christ.
Threshing Floor is Parish Ruth (vocals, guitars), Josh Ruth (bass), and Andy Covington (drums). This formation of the band began in early 2009. Parish and Josh are brothers while Andy joined thru a mutual friend at church. From there we continued to meet at least once a week on the weekends to fellowship, pray then play.

Story behind the song
Pride knows no boundaries, not even death. People can be in need so badly but never submit to the solution that would end the cycle of disappointment. I learned by watching one trial after another take its toll. From the outside looking in, the answer seemed so easy when it came to ending this persons troubles. However, when you are in the center of the storm, it is difficult to see any distance at all, which blinds you and takes away any hope of escaping. The bible tells us pride goes before the fall. We would be wise to submit to God's purpose and will for our lives. So even when the hard times come, He can still redeem them and strengthen you. Without God, you run the risk of losing your soul and the motivation to live with any hope at all... thus broken.
