never trust a man with a guitar.
I've long been fascinated by how music takes you away to another time or place and transforms your state of mind. When I was about six years old, I wore out a toy guitar, amp and microphone. I wanted to be just like Garth Brooks back then. I started piano lessons at around age eight. I played clarinet, alto and baritone saxophone in middle and high school. And then I discovered guitar at age fourteen, literally played until my fingers bled on more than one occasion. I also wrote my first song around that time; it was called "Twister." "Blame" came more than fifteen years ago, and I haven't put the guitar down since. It's been one of the few constants in my life. My influences run the gamut but most notably include Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bob Dylan and many popular alternative rock artists of the '90's. Most important for me, it's about creativity, artistic expression and capturing moments of raw emotion. Music is my outlet, and I can only hope that some tiny part of at least one of these songs speaks to you as it has to me.

Lyrics
last true story v1 i count the days as they pass by absent the comfort of our last embrace those sparkling eyes and moonbeam smile carries my heart a far and distant place v2 goodbye to you this masquerade freed from me or so the one you knew i wanted more we had it all the ever in forever is elusive once more b remembering good days and bad days too look back flipping forward i wonder if you see my name as a splinter in your side my face just a paperweight in your mind c and this is the last note i never send this is the prologue to the end this is the saga this the hell and this is the last true story i tell v3 lay down to rest a sleepless bed give chase to the memories only time can erase surviving the night to live another day sadly the sunshine only numbs down the pain b remembering good days and bad days too look back flipping forward i wonder if you see my name as a splinter in your side my face just a paperweight in your mind c and this is the last note i never send this is the prologue to the end this is the saga this the hell and this is the last true story i tell © 2009 | Jason Stone
