Story behind the song
I was disgruntled and wanted change. I was sick of the lack of respect from people around me. Its about leaving the past behind and heading for a better place.
Lyrics
He left town just a few days ago He didn’t think he’d be appreciated He ran off to find a place that he could grow To find a place to call his own He landed himself a studio apartment In downtown of a small town Around the corner from a bookstore Five minutes on a bike to the arboretum Before he took off he worked so hard Wage slaved his way through college He did his best to please everyone He had no fun, and he was always alone He resided a few weeks off the money he preserved He just wants to live the life that he deserves Doesn’t want to exist for the dollar and cent But he still had to find some employment Back in his hometown he felt trapped There was no place for him to go to relax Eight AM til 1 they planned his day He needed time for him to clean up the dismay In his new home which he planned out well He had a bookshelf stacked up tall He had a place to sleep and a kitchen to eat But the notes he sang made it all complete He used to believe that no one listened up It made him always feel down on his luck He’d try to be happy to make others the same But no one heard the sad words that he had sang Now for him, thinks are different Everyday he rides his bike down the street Tries to find a new person to meet And go to the forest in search for new things to eat He’s happy now when he sings his songs Because he found the place where he truly belongs From this point on the pain will stop Reformation and revolution He’s never looking back….
