I am a solo singer/songwriter. My music is mostly soft although my songs could easily be performed in mostly any style.
For me, it's all about the song. That mysteriously magical thing that happens when a lyric is married to a melody. The writing process is invigorating and exciting while simultaneously being exasperating and difficult. It is that moment when music is being composed and a lyric is being written when I am truly the "artist at his easel." The creative process continues when the song is brought into the studio to be recorded because, as in writing, the production and arrangement processes also have their own sets of challenges. Those challenges are always dictated by the song itself and the task at hand at that moment is to be true to the song and carefully craft a recording that reflects what the song is about. Part three, for me, is to then take that song and perform it. It is the purest form of displaying this work of art called a song and is the only place where the magic of the creation is reflected back to me from a room full of interested listeners. And at that moment it is only as magical as the audience makes me believe it is. My CDs are all available on CDBaby.com.

Lyrics
All this talk of politics Is getting old to me The right are not so righteous And the left just disagree It doesn't seem to matter What the issues are As long as there's a D Or as long as there's an R And while we're fighting Kids are dying And while we're screaming at each other There's a homeless hungry mother And the photo in the paper That she uses for a bed Shows a campaign dinner fundraiser Ten thousand bucks a head--- All this talk of politics Is making me feel ill We'll all be sittin' pretty When we ratify another bill And nothing ever changes But the faces on the screen With another empty promise Packaged as The American Dream And while we're dreaming Jobs are leaving While we're passing legislation There's a crisis in the nation And the only one who's standing For the little man's life Is the little man himself The little man and his wife--- All this talk of politics Is B.S. and lies The suited gavel bangers Are a bunch of clowns in fancy ties So I've proclaimed today To be election day I'm voting for myself My family and myself And you can vote for yourselves too It's the only way It's the American way

Your lyric is so very true, Larry ... I love the effectiveness of the beautifulness of your strings, your guitar chords, your melody, your vocal against the angry-ness of the sentiment of your words. Very insightful, you are. Thank You for such a true and eye-opening song...
