Acoustic fingerstyle singer-songwriter; kind of a mashup of Leonard Cohen, Nellie McKay, Stuart Davis, Jason Mrasz, with a little Martin Simpson thrown in. Working on my CD, that I hope will be out this Spring: "The Suburban Book of the Dead."

Story behind the song
Not about anyone. . .just a rhyme of the first two lines that came to me before coffee one morning. I went to the computer to write them down. . .and the rest of the song finished itself in 10 more minutes. . .I heard exactly how it was going to sound but it took two more days to find the chords. The draft here is a trial recording. . bare bones. .
Lyrics
It don’t need much, It don’t take up space It’s just my heart Has this open place Where you might be If you wanted to Where I might feel That I wanted you Tonight. It’s just a line On the rocky sea But it’s strong enough To take you back to me Where it’s warm and dry If you want to be Where you might decide That you wanted me Tonight. Can we find a place where the words don’t matter? Can we find a space just big enough for two? Can I find that place for you? So it’s not much That I need from you Just a sign to read With the smallest clue That we might be Where we need to be That we might see What should be obvious To see. Can we find a place where the words don’t matter? Can we find a space just big enough for two? Can you find a place Just like that for me too? It don’t need much, It don’t take up space It’s just my heart Has this open place Where you would be ‘Cause you wanted to And you would know How much I wanted you Tonight.
