Story behind the song
While this has been performed several times with his group, Nuclear Powered Winnebago, this is the definitive studio recording of Delayed Pulsations by Donald W. Mohr. Written in 2008, it took over 2 years to finally create a definitive recorded version. When committing a song to a studio recording, you're defining your final vision for the piece, conceived as a solo performance, a marimba version was recorded but is not released due to the fact that it was done with MIDI. This was the first time Donald W. Mohr was happy to finalize a version. Nuclear Powered Winnebago has performed this piece live as it was Donald W. Mohr's band. It was not however, included in the 10,000 MPG album from the band because Donald did not want to create a definitive version with other musicians at the time. A trio version exists as well which is actually layered on top of this version.
