I Want To Feel Guilty Again

A "tex mex" border ballad about how difficult it is, when married, to end a relationship with a lover.....and break the "triangle".

Story behind the song
All I can tell you is that Life has taught me that ending an affair, MEANS ending it. You must never see, speak with, be alone with, or touch that person again. Even if you have to up stakes, and move away to Idaho.
It is also true that : No one is immune to a secret, forbidden touch or smile.
I try not to judge anybody, in case I get judged in return.

Lyrics
I Want To Feel Guilty Again
copyright 1981 by Victor Compton
Night after night, I tell the same lies and feel guilty
And, I know I should stop, 'cause breakin a heart is a sin
So, I promise myself, that this time it's finally over
But then when I'm near you.....I want to feel guilty again.
I wait in the street until I can meet you in secret
And, I know I should leave before the cheatin' begins.
And just for a moment, I almost remember I love her,
But then when I'm near you.....I want to feel guilty again.
chorus: If they put me on trial for ficticious smiles, I'd be guilty
I lie to myself every night as I try to pretend.
That never again will I see you or need to feel guilty.
But, then when I'm near you, I want to feel guilty again.
Day after day, I find myself waiting to see you.
And counting the brand new excuses I'll have to explain.
And thinking how useless it is to try and deceive her.
But, then when I'm near you..... I want to feel guilty again.
