I thought of all those poor folks like soldiers and others who have to work away from the people and places they love.

One day soon I’m going down to see my folks in Milford Town
                                                           
And walk along beside the dock, where fishing boats do bob and rock
And sailing girls do hang around.  To keep us safe from sin.

I’ll sit myself on golden sands and run smooth pebbles through my hands
And watch the seagulls dip and dive.  How good it is to be alive
But I must stay in foreign lands until my boat comes in.
