Young Jet was born Phillip Lyles Jr in Indianapolis IN., on January 12 1996. Following his father, Little Phil started playing drums when he was just 5 years old after getting a drum set for Christmas. He also developed a love for freestyle dancing around the same time after discovering Michael Jackson. Young Jet is highly influenced by Michael’s dance moves. T.I. was his first introduction to rap and Young Jet became a big fan. He started experimenting with his own sound at age 6, making tracks with a neighborhood friend Kris Neville (Jubri), who he still works with.
