After a too-long layover, Bill dips a cautious toe back into the bracing waters of songwriting and recording with this nifty DIY psych-folk concoction.
indie solo
This is just my own solo stuff. I do this crap mostly for my own amusement and/or as songwriting/production/arranging exercises. I don't how to categorize myself since I'm liable to try absolutely anything that catches my fancy, from indie-punk to '70s TV theme spoofs to ambient atmospherics. It's all here for you to enjoy, and if you're not careful you might get a headache before it's done, hey hey hey.

Story behind the song
I came up with this ditty one night while walking the dogs. I hadn't really written a song in a long time, certainly not since I've moved to New Jersey, and outside from a couple of covers and stray little bits of nonsense hadn't done any serious recording of my own songs. I've been itching to get back into creating my own music for nearly three years and now, with my PC back up and running, here's the first real fruit of that gnawing desire. I think it's shaping up pretty well, although the intro is a little too much like "Julia Dream" by Pink Floyd. Oh well. Here are the instruments I used: '83 Squier Bullet guitar pieces-parts P-bass Keith's dad's old antique open-back banjo Yamaha off-white plastic recorder Utz cheese ball container glass spare-change jar Nanotron VSTi plug-in (a great Mellotron emulation) equipment: Kawai K3 (for MIDI control) MCA SP1 condenser mic M-Audio Delta 66 PCI audio interface Reaper 3.68 (poor man's Sonar) 6 year old homebuilt PC (AMD Athlon XP) broken Koss headphones (for monitoring and mixing)
Lyrics
(Not heard in this instrumental version, I improvised this chorus over a previous version, giving the song its title, whose working title was "Jock Itch.") You can be the one I'm waiting for You can show me the way to the door You can be the one I'm waiting for Show me something else, and show me more
