A song that's steampunk in ambiance and allusion more than anything else. Love the eerie open sound of a city deserted after dark--and the idea of keeping faith with passing trains someday you'll be somewhere new...

Fantasy-themed rock ballads and anthems
Our demo CD "The Dark Before Hope" draws on the work of Tolkien, especially the Lord of the Rings epic. Bethany, lead vocalist and lyricist, is building up a body of songs about other books she was moved by as well--she's a fantasy writer with a penchant to wax eloquent in many forms about literature. Daniel, primary musician and current producer, plays around on his bass and sometimes a guitar to find musical hooks to build more songs around.

Lyrics
In the coal-dark pools of rain There are glints of lights that dance Every time the train hums by Windowpanes shake like leaves It's the Night Train passing and going One day it won't leave me behind I can dream of places it's been And breath the air it pushes aside In the mist-cool wind that rides Like a last patrol of ghosts The whistle blunts on fog and steam Like a song half-echoed down It's the Night Train passing and going One day it won't leave me behind I can dream of places it's been And breath the air it pushes aside Honey-warm lit rooms it's passing Still as tombs from on the line Chattering of wheels on rails Silver-chased, and gone on time It's the Night Train passing and going One day it won't leave me behind I can dream of places it's been And breath the air it pushes aside
