Story behind the song
Charlie invited me to see what I could do with this piece; I thought, what do blues sound like for a work-at-home mom of little ones? and this is what I came up with.
Lyrics
put toothpaste where it goes on your teeth and not my nose finish line: asleep in bed after one more story’s read god above give me the power to be coherent one more hour till dishes washed, bills are paid room’s are straightened, prayers are prayed open up the closet door dirty things fall to the floor close the door back up real tight I’ll get to it another night see my sweetie dozing there fell asleep in his chair will there be enough of me to be the wife I want to be now I’m going off to bed to rest my really weary head before the 3 a.m. alarm to comfort little guys in tired arms I take a breath - I love you more than I ever thought I could no one ever tells you life can be this good your sleeping face reminds me I’m in heaven not in hell . . . and the angels that surround you whisper “peace, all is well”
