Soundisciples were originally Bristols WHORES OF BABYLON ( released a couple of albums 1994 1996 ) then became Soundisciples in 1998 when the direction of the music changed and a new record deal was secured with Peaceville/Music for Nations. 2 albums have been released so far : Undefined ( 1999 Peaceville/music for nations ) and Audio Manifesto ( 2002 Snapper/Peaceville ). Soundisciples music has always been a hybrid of styles but always retains some kind of Gothic or Metal feel. The first album in 1999 was a fusion of Industrial / drum and bass / techno / Trance / gabber /gothic metal ! This album was critically acclaimed by magazines such as : Metal Hammer, Kerrang & Rocksound. The second album in 2002 was somewhat different being a hybrid of Trip-hop / Brit pop & Gothic metal an album that also featured the drummer from Kasabian. This album also achieved some acclaim but was also marketed by a heavy metal label and unfortunately wasnt metal enough for some of the magazines out there. Soundisciples have toured with various known artists including Janus Stark, Pitchshifter, Mortiis , Paradise Lost , Anathema & Opeth. Back in around 2002 there was also a UK Channel 4 documentary called Tour of Duty.which was about the band and their tour manager martin as part of a series about specific bands and their Roadies/tour managers. Amongst others the band has also collaborated with Beth Gibbons ( Portishead ) & Gizz Butt ( former Prodigy guitarist, Janus Stark, The More I See, current Crass & Sabbat member ) The core members of Soundisciples are Joe White & Julian Gobz Hill, they also have some new project bands of their own that they are making albums for too, these are : Corporation of Corpse Stealers ( thrash/death/black metal ), The Drunken Pirates ( Punk Metal ) & Noiselab Project ( Electronica/Drum and Bass/Industrial ) The new Soundisciples album Killbox will be released on Gobz record label Lovegun during 2011.
