Artist picture
Brooklyn born and Staten Island bred, NY MC Adonis "Trip" Williams, has been deep rooted in music as far back as he can remember. His influences and aspirations to pursue music came from various genres, his earliest being gospel, jazz and hip hop. His first recollection of hip hop music is when he heard Lords of the Underground's "Chief Rocka", although he didn't comprehend the song due to his young age, the rhythm of the beat and the energy of the artists had him hooked. It wasn't until 2002 that Trip began writing rhymes seriously, due to encouragement by now longtime friend Verse, and began his evolution from rapper to MC. Trip's earlier material displayed that of a youth with a gangster mentality. Once he came into the full understanding of what Hip-Hop is and what it represents, he evolved into being more enlightened, aware and conscious of himself and the world around him which reflects through his music. He aims to articulate his life experiences, display his creativity and bring meaningful lyrics back to hip hop. With influences ranging from Prince to Rakim and from Anita Baker to System of a Down, he is sure to bring something refreshing to your musical palate. One Love!
