The re-writing of Historical fact by the Texas school board is disturbing. Placing oneself on the side of McCarthyism is even more so. Denial of what happened in Katrina and whats happening to our planet is even more dangerous.

Story behind the song
When school boards decide to write Historical fact based on Bias because of political leanings we know one thing, something bad is afoot.
Lyrics
Now way down in Texas they got a new story, About all the history they love and deplore. That there was no slave trade but a triangle connection That gave free passage and then room and board. And old Joe MCCarthy caught the gays and the commies And rounded them up like cattle and sheep. Played a mighty fine tune right their in the congress I even heard Ole Joe lIed in his sleep. AInt no such thing as a globbally warming, Aint no such thing as a mighty big storm And the walls didnt fal lwhen Katrina came calling Get down on your knees and praise the lord. Now theres somehow there saying in a world of imperfects, Intelligent design Thats some 4000 years old No ape and no moneky we are as we were then Created from Dirt and the rib for the gal And Fred Flinstone and Barney and Betty and Wilma They rode on them Dinos to work and to play Now anyone want to tell me how a comicbook becomes fact Can only happen in he good Us of A. Now if that old God he still be alive now And looking Down from Heaven at all that we done You know hes just got to be a thinknig Maybe its time to end what I begun

Hi Roger: Great acoustic playing and strong vocals on this song! Happy Easter, Sue
This is one of the BEST OF BEST protest songs ever written. The lyrics just shine with the satire of TRUTH. And the vocal is as good if not better than many of the greats of the past like Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, and a select few others. Also, the melody, as well as acoustic/ harmonica backing, is just perfect for the desired effect. BRAVO AND CONGRATULATIONS ROGER JOHN! You have a classic with "Ain't no such thing", and the song's high SoundClick charting plus the kudos of your fellow expert SC friends and musicians is so very very well deserved!!!!! Bob and the JBBQ "Guys" P.S. Thank you most sincerely for the dl of this song for our eclectic music player on SoundClick.

Dylan would be proud to call this one his own - it's a superb protest song, hard hitting, honest, downright truthful with a touch of irony.

Hi there Roger, This is a very powerful song....incredibly delivered. Your vocals, guitar playing and the harp are awesome on this....it does have a Woody/Dylan feel to it. You are very talented indeed! My best to you, Gail

The voice of reason, if only the world were governed by the wise and open-minded rather than the self absorbed and power-starved. Excellent phrasing, vocals, guitar (clear as a bell), harp, and production. Super memorable. Please keep them coming Roger.

A potent forceful message with this track that makes one pause to reflect on this thing we call life. Nice mix with the harmonica. And, as always your distinguishing vocals excel throughout bringing the message for all to hear

The lyrics as always killer Roger, you speak the truth and that's what I want to hear. But the guitar and the production is also excellent here, take your time, don't rush a song, get it as good as possible before uploading, it pays off, this is great!!
