Ruthie, R&B, King, music
Ruthie King R&B singer/songwriter was raised in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, aka Minnesnowta; home of the snow. She did live in Georgia for a couple years then moved back to the Sota (talk about climate difference). She comes from a family of four kids and Ruthie was the first girl in all of the family. Her whole family is musically inclined. Dad plays drums, guitar (acoustic & electric) and writes music; mother plays cello, and oldest brother plays bass real well. Then the other older brother plays drums and now her little sister is taking after big sister doing her singing thing. Then there's Ruthie: Plays a little piano, knows how to play the drums, sings and writes her own music. Not to mention the outside family, so it's in the genes and comes natural for her. She grew up listening and singing to Mary J. Blidge and Mariah Carey, who are her favorite singers, and listening to nothing but R&B so that's what influenced her and where she learned how to sing. People have told her that her sound and style are like Keyshia Cole, Mya and Ashanti. Ruth is more like a recording artist than an entertainer. She's in the studio a lot but doesn't have much performing experience. But every time someone will ask her "sing," she will sing to you with no hesitation whether you're paying her or not! Her plan is to start booking at places and gaining her performance experience. Other people that she is currently working with are Righteous and Fire with JusFire Entertainment, and Complex with Get Focused records. Righteous and Complex are recording artists who are featured on some of her songs and likewise, and Fire is her producer; all with great talent.
