Lyrics
Our family divides in so many ways today Don’t think about the world, think about race Or think your gender’s best or your nationality Your profit making must keep up the pace When problems arise we fail to see with our eyes That we are just one human family We’re the human family in the same big family tree The right to love and to be free all extends to you and me But when we don’t think family we can do some awful deeds Human rights we never see when we don’t think family We think our country’s best, even more than family We fight our wars and kill brothers so dear We think about our race even more than family Enslave our brothers and sisters in fear Bad things can take place when we forget we’re one race Forget that we’re one human family We’re the human family in the same big family tree The right to love and to be free all extends to you and me But when we don’t think family we can do some awful deeds Human rights we never see when we don’t think family We can put man on the moon We can probe the deepest seas We can see around the world But we can’t think family We think our gender’s best even more than family Belittle and demean sisters we find When we think profits mean even more than family We kidnap and oppress woman and child We’re too blind to see when we don’t think family We fail to see our human family We’re the human family in the same big family tree The right to love and to be free all extends to you and me But when we don’t think family we can do some awful deeds Human rights we never see when we don’t think family
