Art chasing sound.
The band is me. I have been a musician since age 7 (i'm 44 now), and that's pretty much all I did. By age 32 I was working in an average of 6 bands at a time and still practicing 36 hours a week. That's when I got nerve damage in both my arms and couldn't use them for 5 years...not for eating, lifting, playing...anything. 2 surgeries and 3 more years recoup, and I am back in short bursts. I write and track everything in 1 take as I can't play for long. Guitar is my main instrument (studied it the most), but have been playing drums and bass since age 10, and have actually worked the most as a drummer. I can't really use my left arm much so i drum with my fingers. It gives it a unique sound. (Don't worry, it's not wimpy... I can still break sticks!)

Story behind the song
This was the final assignment for our summer intern, Landon Ellis. He got a three year music course condensed into one summer. He had to learn how to read and write notated rhythms, write charts, learn all of the intervals on guitar, learn all seven modes and understand how music theory works, record a seven song EP with a full band, learn how to lead and coordinate others and be responsible for all of the details involved. The final assignment was to compose an original song utilizing all of the music theory we had just gone through. The tempo, chord progressions were all chosen around the central theme of the lyrics. Marc Jefferson also got in on the action early and was involved in the recording and production of this song, as well as playing the first two guitar solos and some of the rhythm parts. Marc also did all of the backing vocals and the awesome organ! All music sans the above mentioned items, is brought to you by what remains of the limbs of the Zipster... Peace out and enjoy! It doth rock...
Lyrics
Verse 1: God you've seen my mistakes You've seen me on my very worst days But You love me the same Give me hope that I'll make it someday So I give my life to you I give my life to you I give my life to you I give my life Verse 2: God you've done it before Used the weak in spite of their fear So empower me now Help me bring Your Kingdom here Spirit fill my life Spirit fill my life Spirit fill my life Spirit fill my life Chorus: Straighten my path so I know where to go I'll give all I have from this sanctified soul I want you to use me to make this world whole So use me God Bridge: Open my eyes, Lord Help me see the friendless Open my ears, Lord Help me hear their cry
