At the time this song written, Indonesia was a development country, but a rich one in natural assets. Too many people lived in poorness and inappreciated, too many gaps between the rich people and them.
Tried to understand and raised their spirit and proud up had not been good enough.. as it should be the whole nation job.
So hopefully, this song could act as one of the ways for integrating both parties. And hopefully too, could significantly improve any action of taking good care of each other. Dear God, please love my country, love my nation, make us united.
