Story behind the song
Boot Heel swing The 1st verse is the "almost" stock standard version by Herb Remington as he wrote in 1946. After that, all the arrangements are from myself. Therefore, I have changed the name from "Boot Heel Drag" to "Boot Heel Swing". I play all the instruments. They are "multitracked" on Audacity software on my laptop. The lapsteel (Karrera) is a single neck & is tuned to C6. That is C-E-G-A-C-E. I have turned the reverb up on the lapsteel to give it a "valve amp" sound; the sound I heard when I used to hear my Grandfather play his lapsteel in the 60's. The rhythm is all 7th's & 9th's to give dat country swing feel. I learn't this from You tube. Being from Australia, we had not heard of Herb Remington. The internet age has cetainly made us a global village !. I hope you like this one. Peter
