We started out in Medieval England and slowly evolved into a lean mean music making machine
Merlin and the Gnometones were a garageband from the sixties. They toured the US playing for small audiences, living day to day. They recorded over 70 songs using what ever equipment they could borrow. Recently, a tape was discovered with 30 of their original recordings. (Ironically in a garage sale) They have been digitally remastered and posted here for your enjoyment. Seriously, I am a non-performing songwriter just trying to get his music out to people who may enjoy it. Most of it falls into the classic rock genre, but there is a little bit of everything here. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to listen.

Lyrics
I was driving down the highway One foggy, rainy night I didn't see the sign That said "detour-exit right" The next thing I remembered Were the long, white gowns I gazed out the window And the rain kept pouring down. I had a broken arm And internal injuries I wished I were dead When I saw the doctor's fees An old man found me lying Beside my car last night I must have missed the sign That said "detour - exit right". Chorus If you see a sign thats Flashing in the night Heed the warning and take a Detour - exit right. A few days had passed And they sent me on my way They put me in a taxi cab And said come back someday I should be home right now With my kids and wife But I never saw the sign That said "detour - exit right". I was driving down a highway The same one as before My foot was on the gas pedal Right down to the floor Way out in front of me Were some yellow flashing lights As I drove past the sign It said "detour - exit right". Chorus (2x and fade) If you see a sign thats Flashing in the night Heed the warning and take a Detour - exit right.
