I had a few original compositions floating around in my head so one day I sat down and started recording. All my music is played by hand except for a few of the rhythms; I don't use programmable synthesizers. I opted for this approach because I wanted to go for a more personal and less mechanical sound.

Story behind the song
I was on vacation at Lake Tahoe and I was standing waist deep in the cold waters, gazing out at the horizon. I was struck by the way the calm, clear water surrounded me all the way out as far as I could see, and I felt the most tranquil yet powerful communion with the Earth. After I came home from that trip I sat down and wrote these words.
