Story behind the song
This song is about my nephew Christopher. He was born with a rare genetic disorder and was presumed by doctors to only live 3 months at the most. The fighter he was, he lived to the age of 7 and touched many lives with his smile and appreciation for things that most of us take for granted. I wanted to write a song that expresses not so much about his struggles, but the way I remember him.

Those who sympathized couldn't see beyond the burdens you were dealt. Those who loved you realized and thrived upon each moment when they felt... You shine Ill notions swept away settled to another day. The world became a brighter place everytime you shined. Flipping through old photographs, there's a face I see. I don't turn the page. I surrender to the past, let my mind go free as memories engage. Here we are again, twirling around the room as the music fills the place. Every now and then when the world is dark and gloom, I remember your sweet face and how you Shined... I'll notions swept away settle to another day. The world becomes a brighter place when I remember the times.. You shined. Ooooh oooooh Many tears cried as we cast our goodbyes. Watched them subside in that November sky.
