Lyrics
VERSE 1: After all the dreams forsaken In the time aboard this crooked train And all the certainties mistaken That we've seen, you know what I mean Look out up ahead there a018Cause something has to give We could go up in flames VERSE 2: The mirages on the highway Shimmer in this kind of heat Just when I think they're going my way They vanish at my feet A lot of hot air That wasn't even there And still they went up in flames CHORUS: Baby, I know you need me And that ain't easy, 'cause I'm a fool Please, don't ever leave me No one believes me without you INSTRUMENTAL VERSE: VERSE 3: When all that sleep that was awakened Starts to seep into the day That's when anything can happen That's what they say, that's what they say Something has to give If a dream is gonna live We could go up in flames CHORUS: Baby, I know you need me And that ain't easy, 'cause I'm a fool Please, don't ever leave me No one believes me without you VERSE 4: So what's up with all this water Like there was ever any drought Life is really air and fire Until it gets put out, until you put it out All it takes is a strike Or a match in the night We could go up in flames
