Story behind the song
Song is written in the original Russian. Below is a quick translation:
Lyrics
She was beautiful, as a child's dream of the southern countries under star light; Who will explain, what beauty means: The fullness of the breast, or a pleasantly supple waist, Or large eyes? - but at times We do not call these things beauty: A mouth without words -- no one is able to love; Looks without fire, or a flower without a scent! O heaven, I swear, she was beautiful!.. I burned, I trembled, When her fingers moving along her shoulders Golden silken curls met, I was ready to fall at her feet, To meet her wishes, to give her life, paradise, everything, To receive one, only one glance From which all blessings - poison!
