Story behind the song
I was watching one of my favorite horror movies, The Omen, and there was a part where Fr. Brennan talks about Zion. That part inspired me to write the song, that and the fact I have a BA in religious studies. :-p
Lyrics
Lost and wandering on endless roads, I try to go wherever you will go Scouring our lives for ways back home, But look beyond the stars for what we know (chorus) Blaming things inside, we never even tried, to see the light, to walk away, to walk away from this And will we be alone? or find our way back home? I'm drawn to this, we must decide, we must decide our way The sun is rising for another day, one step closer yet so far away Depriving myself of this suffering, just throw away the pain and move ahead (chorus) So time will let us know, that we're heading down a road, that goes the wrong way, you didn't stay, I didn't know you were gone And will we get this far? To show us who we are? then it's time to break, it's time to go, to find our way back home (chorus #2) Foresaking everyone, foresaking everything, take your foot out of the grave, look towards another day Get up, get up, get on your way, Get up, get up, get on your way....YEAH!!!! Draining me of my will to live, I cannot breathe as long as you don't give Every thought I have draws me to you, But if you walk away from this we'll lose (chorus) And sometimes when you speak, I'm wanting to believe, I'm waiting here, just lingering here, I cannot see the end Until I make you see, that you are not alone, and it's time to rise, time to go, to find our way back home....yeah!!
