Buz is a songwriter, and has had songs recorded throughout the years. He writes and co-writes songs, both lyrics and melodies. He's had many co-writers throughout the years, for example, James Watson, Benny Whitehead, Phil Hamm, Larry Wheeler, Rocky Wimberly, Gene Thomas, Jack Duncan, Travis Watson, Barbara Hart, and many others. He's had songs recorded by Gene Thomas, Frankie Laine, Mark Chessnut, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Charlie Louvin, Johnny Lee, and several artists on independent labels.
