Acapella Country song. I believe I want the song to be a little slower than I've actually sung it, but I won't know until I have music for it.

Hi, well, this is my first and only go at the music industry as of this point in my life. I used to write poetry and even got nominated as Amateur Poet of the Year (2003) by poetry.com. I suppose this is a natural progression for me. Anyway, country is what I grew up on, and country has brought me back to it's loving bosom. I went astray with rap and alternative rock preferences, but now that I'm 28, I just want to lay back and think about my roots. I write from the heart, though I do it without instruments. I write the lyrics and create the melody for my creations, so I hope you enjoy them.

Story behind the song
Though I have no music with this song, it was inspired by my Grandfather. Sadly, he was on life-support when his kidneys went into terminal failure and the only thing left was to let him go. This is what I think a man would want to say to his loving wife if he could just before he passes on.
Lyrics
[Verse 1] I’m laying here in silence, you run your hand across my cheek, It’s been so long since they brought me here, so broken and so weak, The constant drone of machines goes on, a fate not meant for me, Upon this hospital bed, a shadow, of the man I used to be… [CHORUS] Can I spend forever in your heart? Though your life without me may seem torn apart? When you lay at night, and teardrops fall, so innocent and sweet, Just know I’m always there beside you, baby can you smile for me, Can I spend forever in your heart? [Verse 2] We started life together, so many years ago, Both so young and so in love, how we lasted, no one knows. Though life has had its ups and downs, my feelings never changed, And though I won’t be here tomorrow, never let my memory fade… [CHORUS] (Instrumental break) [Verse 3] My time has come, please don’t be sad, this is no life for me, The doctors say there’s no hope left, it’s best to set me free. The room is filled with those I love, please tell them not to cry, My life was good because of you now it’s time to say… Good-bye… [CHORUS then End]
