"tootsie-rootsy" - a blend of dixieland and country blues
rock piano vocals harmony funk jazz instrumental blues experimental rhythm and blues improvisation multi genre
Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. Ralph Atkinson

Story behind the song
I've had this one lying around for a number of years in a rough scratch version and finally decided to write some lyrics, although it's always carried this title. Adding all the horns and the tuba playing bass are also new ideas. Had fun mixing this one with all those instruments competing for space.
Lyrics
Well, me and my baby got a secret place where we go to escape the rat race throw off our trouble and get a little privacy and we forget ourselves underneath a bambigalia tree Well, it's back in the woods off of route nine set by a stream in the bright sunshine ain't no one around but the birds, and her and me singin' their songs high up in the bambigalia tree Who dat? It's okay, baby it's just you and me takin' our time underneath the bambigalia tree I got my sweet little baby and a picnic lunch a bottle of wine and no time crunch havin' a good time livin' out our fantasy laughin' and a'lovin' underneath the bambigalia tree What's that? Don't worry baby it's just a little honey bee visiting flowers underneath the bambigalia tree Well, back in the city on a monday morn three cups of coffee and I'm still worn daydreamin' away, along about quarter to three still thinkin' of you underneath the bambigalia tree
