Mother I Remember Your Face
Self-explanatory. Tribute to my Mom who was the best Mom a guy could have ever wanted.
Southern California song writer.
Story behind the song
Myself and two friends had lost our Mom's all within the same year.
The male friend and I started thinking about a song. I sang a few lines he added a couple, and although I lost track of him, I finished the song several years later.
Lyrics
Mother - I remember your face
Doug Buche 92
(1st Verse):
Oh Mother, I remember how you were. Mother, I remember your face.
Oh Mother, I remember how you were. Mother, I remember your charm and grace.
(Chorus):
Did I tell you that I love you? I know did, I know I did.
Did I tell you that I need you? I didn't know it then.
Can you tell me why you left me? Left me so soon.
Left this lonely child without a mother.
(2nd Verse):
Oh Mother, if you could see me now. Mother, would I make you proud.
Oh Mother, if you could see me now. Mother, would I make you smile.
(Chorus):
Would you tell me that you love me. I know you would, I know would.
Would you tell me why you left me. Do you think you could?
Would you tell me why you left me. Left me too soon. Left this lonely child without a mother.
(Musical interlude) (Finale)
Momma momma - momma my own sweet Madonna. No one could ever take your place. Momma momma momma my own sweet Madonna, mother I remember your face.
